Content? I don’t have any. I’ve spent too much time trying to amuse myself today that I have actually gone mental and instead of having something decent to post about I just have the nonsense in my head. My head. I am just going to write whatever comes out of my head. That might be gooy. I wonder what happens if stuff starts to come out of your head? Does it ooze? Oozy. Ozzy. I don’t get the whole releasing doves at a wedding. I forget what it symbolizes but I just don’t get it. What happens to the doves? Do they just go on their merry way? I dunno, people and their traditions. I mean I am all full of traditions, and some of them are a bit weird but I guess to each his own. Like the tradition of making sausages each year. I guess thats not really a weird tradition unless you are a vegetarian. I told Alicia today she couldn’t have any of my cookies because they had meat in them but clearly I was lying and just hogging the cookies. Meat in cookies reminds me of that Friends episode where Rachael mixes up the dessert recipe and the meat pie recipe but Joey loves it anyways. I like watching old episodesof Friends. This is why I know nothing about todays shows because the only TV I watch is old Episodes of my favorite shows. Thank God for the million channels we have, there is always a repeat somewhere to watch. We watched the last episode of Flight of the Conchords Season 1 last night. It was ok, not the funniest, though I did love how Bret danced every time he was mad. I wanted to punch Todd in the head. So annoying. I can’t wait to see them live in May. Hello birthday present! I think I want to go down to White Rock for my birthday this year. Chad and I always talk about going to the beach for dinner but we never do. This I think thats what we are going to do. Ha, unless we go to Vegas. Thats a option to I guess because I get the day off on my Birthday and I could turn it into a mini Vacation. The last time I was in Vegas I was 16 and it sucked, clearly, because I was 16. That and it was 52 degrees Celsius. Ugh I wanted to die. But anyways.

It’s 5:00. I am going home.

My brain is weird.

Two Hundred Dollars

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Hi.

The sun went away, behind some clouds so now its not pretty outside anymore. It kind of makes me sad.

I did a few things this morning so I feel a little productive. My desk looks cleaner and you can find things now.

We put together a few plans for the Super Bowl this Sunday. Nothing too exciting but it should be fun. I don’t really care about the game at all I just care about having people over and socializing. However, I think my favorite Super Bowl was the first one Chad and I ever watched. We lazed around on the couch in our sweats and bet against each other to see who would win. Then, we were too lazy to make dinner so we succumb to the Super Bowl ads and went to Wendy’s. Oh what a night.

I thought my wounded finger was getting better but yesterday when I had a shower my hair kept getting caught in it and I realized that instead of closing and healing up, the whole wound was just flapping open. I know, its gross.

Chads been working late this week which means I get home before him, which is a little weird but fun at the same time. I actually have a chance to be more organized and lazy at the same time.

Tonight people are coming over to talk wedding stuff. I’m sure the boys are super excited.

I need to go buy some chips.

Ok.

Bye.

Project Girl

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

As well all know, when I am bored I need to find a project for myself.

Todays project? Find someone who can print me a giant canvas poster.

This is my plan.

We need something to go over the bed in the bedroom and we have decided that we wanted a canvas print, something thats very textured with out a frame. We’ve looked at lots of paintings but with the size we want they are all quite expensive. As well, its hard, since we’ve already picked out the colours in our bedroom, to find a painting to match. So since buying a large canvas print is quite the investment we have continuously put it off. That was, until I got inspired!

The other night at our Wedding Photographers house going over our wedding album I noticed he had taken someones wedding photo and blown it up onto a stretched canvas. It looked absolutely beautiful and it gave me an idea.

The main colour in our bedroom is brown (of course) with all the accent pieces being shades of blue and bits of orange. I remembered some photos Patz took in HD that I thought would look amazing above the bed and became very excited with the idea of having one of his photos hanging there.

I’ve sent out a couple inquires about having photos printed on stretched canvas, the only issue is that his photos are shot with a wide angle and most places print them using standard photo sizing which would mean I would have to crop the photo, and I don’t want to do that. So I’ve got to find a place that can print it exactly the way it is sized only proportionally bigger.

Here is what we are looking at…

Here are our ‘Pat Zaph Original’ options…

Which one would look the best?

We are thinking about blowing it up to amost the width of the headboard itself.

You know what we are doing tonight…NOTHING. Ugh you have no idea how excited we are to have NOTHING planned tonight. First time in WEEKS. I am so excited. I can not even express to you how excited I am. I don’t have to leave the house. I can wear my PJs all night long. ITS GOING TO BE AMAZING. I get to fold laundry and read magazines. Pretty perfect night of you ask me.

Oh Ello

I’ve finally started going throught the 5 million emails I have in my gmail inbox and archiving them into different groups. Its probably going to take me a while but at least it gives me something fun to do today. You know your work day sucks when organizing emails is considered fun.

Claudia is back from her month away in Chile. Finally there is somthing new going on in the office to spice it up. Things have been slow because we were so ahead of the game that we just finished everything early. I’ve been told the next month is going to be dead until we start up on Fall 09. Ugh. Sounds like a gay ol’ time.

Old Coats

Yesterday I almost exploded because there was nothing to do so I figured I would pass the time by organizing one of Claudias books by writing all these notes in it. Well it took forever and my neck was so kinked from looking up and the computer screen and then down at the book. Plus my ass feel asleep 15 times from sitting and not moving. I was going stir crazy. I eventually had to get up and just go for a drive or I was bound to throw myself out the window.

Today I was in the warehouse organizing some samples. I was out there for about 2 hours, just standing and sorting one of the section and my God is that tiring. I don’t even know why because it is the simplest none physcial things to do. I have a bunch more section out there that I can work on over the next few days to pass the time which is good.

My finger is healing up  nicely. Most of it reattached but there is a part that didn’t attach and has turned white. I’m sure that will fall off at some point. Lovely!

OK, thats all I’ve got for today.

What’s your favorite color?

Weekend Review on a Tuesday

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Friday night was the night we got together with Dario & Marlee and the rest of the bridal party for a little Engagement Party of sorts. We started off at the Cactus Club but there was an hour and a half wait to get in. Since we were not up for that we headed across the street to Boston Pizza, a little more casual then what we were dressed for, but they could take us right away. We ended up spending something like 4 hours there eating, drinking, chatting and watching the boys try and flip 27 coasters at a time. They even had the waitress in on the game.

Saturday I was so ahead of the game and got so much stuff done that I actually had time in the afternoon to watch a bit of TV and relax before dinner. This is something that almost never happens. The boys were downstairs having their little band practice and I had the house to myself to draft out a pair of shorts that I am making for one of my friends. After band practice Pat ended up sticking around so I started on dinner. Garlic Bacon Mashed Potatoes, Steak, Salad, Steamed Veggies, and some bread. I had everything timed out perfectly and things where going smoothly, until I decided to slice up the bread.

I was cutting up a baguette and was down to the end where I was going to cut one more slice. So I was holding the little bum part, put the bread knife down to slice, the bread slips, my hand falls down, and I proceed to slice through my index finger and nail. SWEET! So I am bleeding all over the place and yelling for Chad to come help me but all he has to offer me is the suggestion that I grab a band aid. This piece of advice would have worked if I was dripping blood everywhere. The blood would have just soaked through the band aid and it would have been useless. I needed to STOP the bleeding but Chad didn’t quite seem to understand this.  So I run it under so cold water to wash it out and then grab a bunch of Kleenex to wrap it up. I am holding it tight and above my head (apply pressure and elevate!) and Chad started to laugh at me asking what I am doing. “APPLY PRESSURE AND ELEVATE” I yell at him. Clear the man has NO first aid experience.

All Cut Up
This was taken yesterday – 2 days after the initial slice!

Just as I am doing this all the timers go off in the kitchen informing me that my veggies are done and need to be tended too. So I am freaking out and trying to figure how the hell I am going to do this. I grab a fresh Kleenex, re wrap my wound, ask for some tape and end up with Chad duct taping my entire finger. Alright, I guess that will do. All the steamed veggies ended up being too over done but I was able to save the Mashed Potatoes of Awesomeness.

Dinner was a disaster because I could barely eat and I kept holding my finger up in the air hoping it would stop the bleeding while I attempted to eat with the other hand. I was also in a rush because Elise and Ryan were going to be over in half an hour to pick us up to go to the Giants game. Thankfully Pat and Chad cleaned up for me as I tried to get changed and re wrap my finger with something other then duct tape. I was just all out of sorts.

We got to the game just as it started, to find out that our section of the bleachers/seats hadn’t been pulled out properly so when you sat down there was about a 3 inch clearance between the end of the seat and the person in front of you. This made it very awkward to sit so the boys attempted to steal seats further down the section that weren’t as bad. The game was good and we ended up wining 7 – 0 or something crazy like that.

After the game we were all a bit hungry so we went to the Old Admiral. Remember, that place Chad and I went and that turned out to be full of drunk people our parents age dancing to the live blues band. While that is fine and dandy for Chad I was a little skeptical going back there a second time. Luckily we sat in the front of the pub which is more restaurant/lounge like then the back which is all little tables of people drinking and a big dance floor. There was sat in a huge comfy booth, ordered some drinks and food, watched tennis on the big screen and got into a 3 hour long debate about strippers. Fitting really since the Old Admiral use to be the NBI which was a strip club. The experience was way  better then our first one because you were still able to hear and listen to the music but you could also carry on a conversation.

Sunday was the day we got up early and started our day our with a bunch of tasks. I got everything done including under-baking the cookies. Ha. Sunday night we went out to White Rock to visit with the in laws. Chads Mom made such a good meal which was right up my all (stir fried veggies, Asian salad, rice and ribs). Chad on the other hand complained about the lack of Garlic Bread with the meal. That boy and his Garlic Bread. We hung around until 9 or so and then headed off home were we relaxed and I fell asleep while Chad read a book out loud.

The whole finger slice totally put me all out of sorts the entire weekend. Its so weird how your body reacts to something like that. You would have thought I had cut off a limb or something. Crazy damn finger!
