Christmas before New Years

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

So before this year of CRAP is over, I figured I should pump out some Christmas pictures! I mean Christmas does come before New Years after all.

Christmas eve was spent at the parentals with my Moms side of the family (since we usually see my Dads side a few days after). We had dinner and opened presents and then all hung out until it was time for Midnight Mass.

After dinner and presents we headed to my uncles for Midnight Mass, and then off to bed for a little amount of sleep.

Stocking Time

We spent Christmas Morning at home this year. We were late risers, which meant we were late arrived at Casa Ciavarro for breakfast, but oh well, it’s Christmas Morning!

Chad and I opened our stockings and our gifts to each other. A lot of DVDs and books and kitchen things. You know, the usual.

Spoiled again. Chad and I came away with a boat load of gifts. Olympic merch, Computer games, Body Shop gear, just tons of stuff.

After breakfast and opening presents, everyone took their stuff and scattered. Chad and I headed upstairs for some relaxation and nap time. Chad passed out, but I didn’t of course. Instead, I got cat fur in my eye and attempted to suffer the consequences for the next three hours. I don’t know how people live with cats even when they are allergic. I would seriously go mental.

After nap time and hanging out all afternoon, we headed over to Grandma Heagles for dinner and more family time.

A shinny pen from the Christmas Cracker that I forgot to bring home to me. I also love how out of focus and crappy the one picture of me at Christmas is. I really need to get Chad to participate in photographing me more often.

Can we please take a look at how much grease Chads crown absorbed. OMG so gross.

You can’t go to Grandma Heagles and not have 100 pictures of puppies. You know how obsessed we are with them.

Over all Christmas was a success. I really was not expecting to get a lot of gifts considering I was asking for some pretty pricy items, but I lucked out. I took pictures of everything and will post them to flickr soon. Chad actually got more clothes then me, but I really don’t need any.

Christmas was a pretty good end to a pretty crappy year, the only thing that sucked was kissing too many Italians and then getting this cold. I love how 2009 decided to jab me one last time on its way out!

Tonight we are off to a little house party tucked away in the suburbs of Surrey. Tomorrow will be the first day of 2010 and hopefully the first day to a much better year.

At the Barn

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

So Christmas Eves Eve was spent at the Barn. Not as many people showed up as were expected, but that’s almost expected to happen so close to Christmas, isn’t it now?

Alicia turned the living room into a dance floor and the eating area into the living room. We spent most of our time sitting on couches chatting away. There was a lot of people there we didn’t know because Alicia’s roommates invited all of their friends so we kind of just stuck to ourselves. So anti-social.

The theme of the party of Christmas (obviously) so that meant anything related to Christmas. Christmas colours, sweaters, party dress, the works.

Elise oppted for her Moms favorite sweater as her ‘ugly Christmas sweater’. Her Mother was slightly offended by that. It was funny just how much she looked like her Mom that night. We kept calling her Mrs. Ehman.

I chose my ‘Aspin’ sweater, a red necklace, and ornaments for my hair. That is what you call last minute planning.

We were the last ones to leave, as per usual when it comes to parties at Alicia’s house. Its just so damn hard to tear the boys away from a house party. It’s like they are trying to re-live their youth or something.

On the way home we were tempted to stop for a late night snack but quickly realized there are NO food joints open late at night in the Metrotown area. Actually there are no fast food joints in the Metrotwon area PERIOD. I guess they figure since all the food stuff in actually IN Metrotown Mall, there is no point putting them OUTSIDE the mall for people who want to eat when the Mall is closed. Nice planning McDonalds. You just lost two Double Cheeseburger sales. We were going to drive out to Denny’s for food, but then I realized how far away it was and how tired and lazy I was so I nixed it.

No Meat Lovers Skillet for you.

Monday, December 28th, 2009

I’ve some how contracted some sort of sickness today. Luckily I have the day off. Plans are out the window cause I’m stuck on the couch. Lots of updates still have to be made and lots of posting of pictures. Hopefully I will feel a little better this afternoon, after some hot tea and snooze time. For now I am attempting to set up my new laptop while watching the complete series of Absolutly Fabulous. Heavenly really. Sweety, Darling. Someone make me feel better.

Hair Poof

It has come down to one hour left working in this holiday seasons. I will actually be off work for 5 glorious days. Well, glorious if you enjoy running around like a chicken with your head cut off from family event to family event. I’m just excited to have a little break from it all.

Last night we debated staying in and doing laundry or going out for beers and watching the game. The beers won out in the end. I’m glad Chad convinced me to go because I had a way better time then I would have watching TV. We went to the Mountain Shadow, which we haven’t been to in forever, and met Dario there. Ryan and Elise followed suit as it was a friend of theirs Birthday that evening, which just happened to take place at the Mountain Shadow. Mike was there too, along with a few other people we know. Ryan ended up ordering food, which was something we were going to stay away from only because of our horrible experience last time we were there. It was 25 cent wings night and we were pretty sure those couldn’t be trusted, but after Ryan and Elise guinea pigged them for us we were sold. Wings all around. They were actually really good, a little too saucy, but other then that, really tasty. I was actually quite impressed.

Tonight we are off to a little Christmas party at Alicias place. I say little but I think something like 50 people are going to show up! Should be an interesting event with my greasy hair and Aspin sweater. Maybe I will stick a Christmas Ornament in my pony tail.

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I think it will be a relatively quiet one. Its interesting to think back to last year and how we were snowed in and almost missed Midnight Mass. What a disaster last year was. This year I think we will just hang out and then head over to my parents house in the afternoon and do our Christmas thing there.

Tis the Season to Bake

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Sunday was the traditional Heagle Craft Day over at Grandmas house. This year though, instead of crafts we decorated cookies. Nom nom nom.

It seems like everyone was baking this weekend.

Mom was taking lessons on how to Pipe stuff. I finally got the hang of it this year.

This is me in Cookie form. Pretty but radioactive, hence the eyes. Chads mom thought it was amazing. Hahaha.

My Origami Box

Once I finished my share of cookies, I moved onto Christmas Origami. The box was the only thing I could figure out. Usually I’m pretty good at Origami, but for some reason I just could not figure out the instructions.

Emily & Stevie

They are such nuts. Stevie asked me if I was pregnant because she said Emily wants a cousin, and I’m her only hope. Ha. Not yet Stevie, not yet.

Stevie also thought my Mom was in her 20s.

Grandma Heagle

Grandma Heagles shirt said ORLY in big sparkly letters. No one noticed it except me. When I pointed it out to Chad he almost lost it.

The girls went crazy with their colours and sparkles and everything. Their cookies were almost glowing Neon. I love watching kids decorate cookies.

I just realized that our Moms almost have the exact same hair cut.

Mom was getting her Dog fix that day, considering its been a while. She was baby talking Ebony like nobodies business.

I think she almost stole her on the way out.

Abby was getting some lovin’ as well.

Chad & Ebony

After decorating cookies and making boxes we all ordered pizza and scarffed it down.

Then Chad and I headed over to Steves to catch the Canucks game.

It was pouring rain like I had never seen before. You actually had to pass through a waterfall just to get to Steves front door.

Thankfully the game was a bore because it allowed me to pass out on Steves couch.  Car rides home when all you want to do is sleep are so damn crappy.

So one more day of work ahead of us and then a little bit of a Christmas break. If only that were actually true. Chad is stressed out to the max thanks to work and stupid tenants. He still hasn’t bought my Christmas gifts which I believe is adding to the stress even more. Each day he has planned to take off to go shopping he has been called into work. Even this past Saturday they called him in. It’s getting to be a bit much. He was also told that he will be on call all through his Christmas holidays and if they call him he NEEDS to come in. I can’t wait for numerous dinners and activities to be ruined. Woohoo!

I really need to get off the negative train! Hopefully everything will work out this week. I just wish there was something I could do to relieve Chads stress. Le sigh.

A Talking To

You are pretty much the funniest person ever. That’s probably because you  understand my humour so you say stuff you know I will laugh at.

I love that you cuddle my side of the bed when I get up for work. Or maybe I should be offended that you cuddle it only after I’ve left the bed.

It is amazing to watch you pretend to be a dinosaur.

I love that I can chase you around the house and always win because you have bad knees. I also love that you look like a dinosaur when you run.

I love that you are scared of midgets and that I can freak you out by simply watching the Little Couple. I also love the amount of rage you get when discussing whether little people should drive or not.

I even love when you fart, but mostly because we are 5 years old and laugh hysterically.

I love that you txt message me the status of your bowel movements.

I love that I can make you laugh hysterically just by laughing hysterically.

I love when you say words in Italian like you are from Naples and are 65 years old.

I love when you do a side part.

I love that there is white AND red in your beard.

I pretty much love everything about you.

Well, except when you talk, at length, about Scotch (that little bitch) and I have no choice but to sit there and listen to you.

“Yes, I sense a bit of peat to this one as well. Well, you know, it is an Islay. Oh is it, well that must be it. Yes, I’ve been on a bit of an Islay kick, but you know it is such a strong Scotch I think I need to mix it up a bit…”

But other then that, I pretty much love everything about you.
