I have this problem where I take things too personally. Things that have nothing to do with me and are not directed at me. People simply make a statement about something they don’t like, and it just happens to be something that I love, and my brain takes it as a personal attack. It doesn’t make any sense. Then my over reacting Italian ways makes me want to delete them as friends on faceboook or pretend like they never existed. For some reason I’ve been very sensitive as of late, and very protective of the things I love and the things that mean a lot to me. And it also seems to me, that these things that I love, are being attacked by random people, which then makes me think that I am being attacked, even though it could just be a coincidence.

I think because facebook appeals to the snoop in all of us, we are friends with way more people then we would be in real life; people we have nothing in commen with. I bet I wouldn’t even say Hi to half the people on my list if I saw them walking down the street. But why do I keep them as friends? Because I am a snoop too.

I think I am going through another ‘I hate people’ phase.

See, now if you just hated everybody, you wouldn’t get feelings like this :P

The “I hate people” phase is quite normal, Danielle – don’t worry about it! Have fun :)

I hate it when people I know attack stuff that I love or believe in, even if it is just a joke I always feel compelled to speak up and at least say “hey, come on…”

i remember there was a time recently when i went through some fb angst and you suggested deleting all friends that were connected with that person and i did, and boy did that feel good!

I am very bad for the rage-delete on Facebook when I see some crap I turn into personal attacks I have to tell myself to sleep on it and let it go. I guess that would be my advice to give though it’s easier said than done.

Haha!! I’m laughing because I was going thru this yesterday. NOT kidding!! One of my “friends” was discussing how she hated leggings and how they looked so “chinese”. First the racist thing set me off – then I was pissed because I just bought a pair and she made me contemplate returning them. I actually deleted her on the spot! You are so not alone! lol

I can relate to this post SO MUCH. I’m kind of relieved that I’m not the only one who takes everything personally.

i deleted over 100 friends about a month ago and haven’t regretted it yet…

the thing is, people get tempted to post their thoughts online, and sometimes we like people better when we don’t know what they’re thinking!

Yessss. People in general can be really disappointing, I agree. That’s why I surround myself with cats and weirdos.
