Saturday we went to the wedding of our friends Sonia and Darren. It was the first wedding in a long time where I wasn’t related to the bride or groom!
We sat at a table with Sonia’s closest girlfriends and had so much fun with them. I’ve ‘known’ these girls for years, in that, I went to school with some of them (though they are younger than me) and have seen others within the Italian community, but in the past few years we have actually gotten to know them more and more through various events that Sonia and Darren have put on. They are a great group of girls, so fun and welcoming; we had an awesome time with them.
My family has known Sonia’s family and Darren’s family for ever and a year, but it wasn’t until a Trevisani Banquet 6 years ago that Sonia and I met and became friends. Then, Sonia met Darren and the rest is history!
It was also great seeing Sonia’s extended family. Some of them I have also known forever but haven’t seen in forever, and some have just become our new neighbours.
Sonia and Darren are so damn cute together. Always happy and smiling. Sonia has the most loving and kind personality, and Darren is such a jokester, he makes me laugh. Together, they are amazing!
The wedding took place at St. Helen’s Roman Catholic Church and the reception was at the Executve Inn in Coquitlam. The food at the reception was so good. H’orderves, appetizers, pasta, steak, dessert, cheese and fruit! I was exploding by the end of the night I had eaten so much. Both venues were beautiful and everything was fantastic.
We meant to get a picture with the bride and groom, but that never happened. Fail!
Oh, and Chads Tie on the Head made an appearance at the request of Sonia’s friend Angela. Apparently I’m married to a side show!
Over all it was a wonderful day and evening and I wish Sonia and Darren all the happiness in the world!
