Vancouver Farmers Market

Saturday morning we headed out to the Vancouver Farmers Market at Trout Lake. It was a beautiful morning and lots of people were out and about enjoying the sun and all the things the market had to offer.

We weren’t going to be home much of the weekend so we didn’t buy a lot of stuff, but it was great to kind of scout things out and see what the market was all about.

I loved all the colours of the fruits and veggies. Everything that I saw was certified organic and looked delicious. There were some booths that were even handing out free samples, and once you had a taste, there was no way you could leave with out buying some. Everything just tastes better when it comes from a Farmers Market.

They had cheese samples at the Little Qualicum Cheeseworks booth. I tasted the Brie and Feta and almost died. They were so good! I definitely want to go back and buy more cheese!

Zucchini Flowers

Nonna makes a deep fried dessert with Zucchini Blossoms. They are my favorite!

Buttons!

I picked up a couple of pins that I am going to turn into magnets.

Cheese for ME!

And I had to pick up some of the Feta because it truly was amazing.

Bread & Cheese Board

And then I found this cutting board for only $23 from the booth selling all hand made wood products. The things they had were absolutely beautiful. Matt has a similar board and he paid triple the price so I was very excited when I found this one. I am going to use mine as a serving board instead of a cutting board.

I love Farmers Markets. I guess it is the farmer in me. Being there on Saturday also made me ache to get this house finished. I want to go to the market on Saturday and buy amazing things and then come home and cook them up. I want to have crazy beautiful flowers and plants growing in my garden. I want to have my herb garden and my giant fig tree. Want want want want.
