Smelly Danielly

We made wine again. 30 cases of Merlot grapes. Ryan came to help out this year and to learn the process. This meant Dad could do more supervising and less work, which I think he enjoyed.

Checking Sugar Levels

Nonna check the sugar levels. 24 – which is good, but not the 25 she was hoping for.

The sweeter the grapes the stronger the wine.

The hot September sun has made all the grapes in the backyard come to life. Too bad they are too sour to do anything with.

Keeping a Watchful Eye

Lady and Indy came to visit. Indy wanted to play and Lady was like ‘Bitch, please’.

Left Overs

The house has smelled like fermenting grapes for over a week now. You could probably get drunk just by hanging out in the basement for too long. With the smell of fermenting grapes also comes the joy of being surrounded by fruit flies. They keep dying in our wine glasses at dinner. Extra protein, Dad always says.

Another year and another batch of wine. The traditions continue.

So what can you use all those boxes for? There must be something on Pinterest you could whip up.

  2. Yea, I saved two of them. I think I am going to do a shelve project with them for one of the spare rooms. They aren’t made out of the best wood though, which kind of sucks.
