Where does the time go?

Elise’s Stagette is tomorrow. Chilliwack River Rafting in the AM and then Roosters in the PM. Neither of them I have ever participated in before. Have I already told you that? I have no idea what to expect, and oddly enough, the thing I am worried about the most is if my hair is going to get ruined while river rafting and how I will re-due it for the evening. Silly, yet important to plan out.

I get so overwhelmed when there is a weekend with a million things going on. I focus so much on the big picture and I just start to get stressed about it all. This weekend feels like that right now even though there is nothing to stress about and everything will work out.

I need to relax.

I don’t have any time anymore. I just keep repeating the same things over and over again. I am possibly loosing my mind.

You know how I’m notorious for posting a million pictures, well I really tried to pair it down this time…if you can believe it.

So…here are the highlights!

Sometimes husbands are very thoughtful. My husband is usually thoughtful only when it comes to booze. He knew how much I love the Jack and Lemonade they serve at Memphis Blue, and found this stuff at the Liquor store. Yay!

We always go gourmet when it comes to camping. Dinner for 6 – Flank Steak, Baked Potatoes, Caesar Salad, and all the fixings!

There was some very interesting conversation that when around the camp site including a comparison of the male genitalia and the Canadian/US border.

Every time Mike went to pee, Elise would throw rocks at him. She successfully hit him several times.

It started to rain Friday night so we had to adjust our seating.

Chad braved the rain with a home made water proof vest (garbage bag) and Colin brought out his Golf Umbrella.

Chad and I had a Beef Jerky Tug-O-War.

Neil sat in his chair after it had rained for quite a bit and got his ass wet. The solution? Warm it by the fire.

Elise was clearly not impressed by this.

Dario made everyone Flaming Etna’s. Chad had a hard time getting it down so Neil had to help. You can clearly see how Steve felt about it.

Chad left his shoes in the rain. Classic. He tried to warm them but ended up burning them.

What happens when you have too much ice in the cooler? Frozen Eggs.

Steve was too lazy to get a fork so he used tongs to eat his eggs. Ha.

Dario doesn’t believe in Ketchup. Well, maybe not ‘doesn’t believe’ but he doesn’t like it. Therefore, he does not have any in his house. Now, this poses a problem when friends come over for burgers and expect to find it. Solution – buy Dario Ketchup for when we come over!

What is the smartest thing to do when you are massively hung over? How about eat your most hated item of food! Thats what Neil did! Eggs and Baileys nom nom nom.

Camping was a success.

We didn’t write down all the amazing one liners this time so I’m going to have to try to remember everything.

It rained 70% of the time, but that’s OK, we made it work.

Ranger Danger attempted to kick us out (apparently) on Friday night, but that didn’t happen.

They totally left us alone on Saturday night.

Mike and Anthea had to relocate their tent 3 times.

The park rangers tried to screw us over, and Pat almost lost is Crown Royal and Apple juice shit on them, but we prevented it.

Stick Ball has never had so many rules before.

It’s going to take a while to recover from this weekend.

Dario invited us over for the christening of his new BBQ and to start of the BBQ season. Chad and I were asked to be Godparents. We graciously accepted.

The men talked specs while I admired the back yard. I want a gaaaaarden.

Webcamming it with Mr. Jew. Yes, we miss him that much. We watched the hockey game together.

Then Dario and I fell asleep on the couch while Chad talked to himself. Classic.

It was an excellent first BBQ at Mr. Perizzolos. That machine is a beauty, even for a girl who knows nothing about BBQs.

I love BBQs not only because meat and fire taste good, but it’s one less thing I have to do in the kitchen!

I then went and picked up Pat from Dario’s house, where they were trying to figure out how to hook up the Nintendo.

It’s hard to seperate lovers when they don’t see each other often.

Pat wanted to go down to this Roller Derby sale in Vancouver. He had informed me that it was near Terminal so the plan was to take the sky train to Main Street and then walk from there. Thank God I was feeling lazy and decided to drive instead because we drove around for half an hour trying to find the place, which according to Google Maps on Pats pohone was in the middle of train tracks, only to realized that the place was actually a block away from my work. SRSLY PATRICK! If only he had given me the actual address ahead of time it would have taken me 20 minutes to get there! Oddly enough I drive by this place every day after work and have thought to myself many times that I should tell Pat about it, but never put two and two together.

Roller Derby crowds are always very interesting. We were talking to one girl who laughed and said, “I’m in roller derby, but do I look like a freak? I don’t understand why people dress so wacky for this”. I agree. There was your mix of Punks, and Goths, and 40 year old women in hooker boots on a leash. You know, the usual.

We had to wait in line for an hour because the store is small and they only let so many people in at once. I didn’t buy anything but Pat got some wheels and stoppers.

I then had the brilliant idea of going to Memphis Blues for lunch.

Pulled Pork for me and Brisket for Pat. Nom nom nom.

I promised Pat a Pork and Bacon filled dinner, something ever Jew wishes for on their Birthday. I then realized after dinner that I forgot to put bacon in two of the dishes. Ha. Woops.

The shoe string fries took forever to deep fry. Everything else was ready to go but we had to wait for the damn fries.

I was actually surprised at how well the Onion Gratin turned out since I have never made a recipe that used onion as the main ingredient. Everyone thought it was really good which I was thankful for!

We sat on the Patio for the first bit because it wasn’t too cold, but we then had to move to the inside as we froze our butts off.

It was a good night until Elise went to the bathroom and discovered two people in the stall beside her were having sex. She was mortified and sat at the table in shock for the rest of the night. We all found it pretty hilarious, though, if I were in her position, I probably would have been totally disgusted.

Pat left on Sunday and we weren’t going to see him so we said good bye that night.

Friday Night Housewarming Party at Mr. Perizzolos!

The big joke was going to be if Dario was actually going to put the heat on in the house, or if he was expecting all of us to warm it for him.

I received at txt from Shaz at 7 that said it was freezing cold, so clearly he hadn’t turned the heat on!

The night turned into a scotch fest, greasy food, singing and dance party.

Dario set up a specialty Puke Station for Chad. Thankfully, it was never used.

We found out that night that Dario had become the proud parent of a 10 pound bag of sugar.

He is a natural born father.

We decided to have a 12:01 meat party. Unfortunately there were only 6 of us left, and a lot of meat to eat.

Right after this picture was taken I fell asleep on the couch. Literally.

All the dancing and singing wore me out.

It was a good party. The start of many parties. Darios house is a good party house, I can already tell. All he needs is to get the big screen working.

I’m calling it. Next weekend hockey game is at Darios!

 Christian legend had it that Befanawas approached by the biblical magi, (as we all known as the Three Wise Men or the three kings) a few days before the birth of the Infant Jesus. They asked for directions to where the Son of Godwas, as they had seen his star in the sky, but she did not know. She provided them withshelter for a night, as she was considered the best housekeeper in the village, withthe most pleasant home. The magi invited her to join them on the journey to find the baby Jesus, but she declined, stating she was too busy with her housework. As kids La Befana use to bring us stuff, but I guess now since I’m married that doesn’t happen any more. LAME! On Sunday the Italian group we are all involved in celebrates La Befana with all the little kids of the members.

 So in celebration of La Befana, I thought I would post some pictures from our New Years Eve festivities.

My drug of choice. After one shot and one cooler I felt like crap thanks to my head cold. The Ashleigh fed me some Advil Cold & Sinus and a glass of water and I was right as rain. Couldn’t drink anymore, but I felt way better.

Demis is such a classy man, considering he Pile Drives his cat into the couch.

Chad sucked at everything. Mainly because it didn’t involve shooting, war, or death.

Over all it was a great night! Hanging out with friends in a casual atmosphere is my kind of party. It just sucked big time that I was sick and couldn’t fully enjoy myself. I was dead by 2 and pulled the shoot shortly after that.

My cold sore has slightly gone away. All thats left is redness and scabs. Gross I know. Because it is right under my nose it kind of makes me look like Hilter. Especially with my side part. I really REALLY hope it heals up for the weekend. I don’t want to go on a date with my red Hilter nose. Le sigh.
