Last night Chad stayed up late to watch The Walking Dead. He hates Zombies but is obsessed with this show for some reason.

When he came to bed I pretended to be asleep. Then I sat straight up and went into Zombie mood. I attacked him and tried to eat his face while making zombie noises. He began to laugh hysterically.

Way to defend yourself from Zombies Chad. Next time remember your screw driver and or shot gun.

Scared of Zombies, pfft.

Well, I feel kind of bad leaving the blog on such a negative note but I haven’t had any time to do anything this week. I am ‘forced’ to blog at 6am at YVR.

Note to self: Thinking that you will just go with the flow and not worry about things DOES NOT WORK. Don’t you know yourself by now?

Got up somewhat early Saturday morning for an appointment and to run some errands. When I got back home Mr. Ciavarro was dressed (to let Mr. Tyrrell into the building) but in bed due to a random yet late night at the Roxy. Most of the cleaning and organizing I had to do was done the night before, but I still had to clean the bathroom. Nothing I said motivated Mr. Ciavarro enough to actually get up and shower so I could clean said bathroom*. So what did I do instead? Well, I let him convince me that I should take a day off and spend it also in bed watching TV. Well, he didn’t have to tell me twice.

Flash back to last night at 10:30pm when I finally finished packing and organizing and now had to face the fact that I still had not clean the bathroom. Oh wait! Lets add to that my discovery that every cleaning product I had was empty! I was left with only Carpet Cleaner and Windex. Why do I do this to myself?

Sleep is overrated, right?

*Note: Could I have cleaned the bathroom with out having Mr. Ciavarro shower, of course, but  then I wouldn’t have had such a relaxting Saturday and it wouldn’t have made this story all that interesting…

So, the other day, while I was at work, and he was at home, our conversation was cut short by him logging off a gchat. Weird, but understandable, given the fact that Internet connections can be unstable.

10 minutes later I recieved a text.

“My Effing computer is dead”

Excuse me? Come again? You’re computer is 2 years old, how can it be dead???

By the time I got home he was in a furry of action. Computer bits all over the place. Wires coming out of no where. He was a MAD MAN.

He tried a million things to fix it but nothing was working. There was no hope. His hard drive was dead.

Ok, there goes $200 down the drain, but no big deal, right?

WRONG.

You would think that someone with a MASTERS in Computer Science would have his shit together when it came to computers, no? Well, it’s probably true for most people, but not for Chad.

That’s right, even with 20 years experience working with computers, Chad Ciavarro never thought it would be a wise idea to BACK UP his hard drive.

It still boggles my mind thinking about it. Even after he helped me, my Mom, AND his Mom all pick out external hard drives to save our information on, he never though that HE might need one.

So, there went years of emails and photos, papers from SFU and his beloved budget (Oh the HUMANITY!).

But to my surprise, the genius had one more trick up his sleeve. An old computer wise tale spoke of putting your hard drive in the freezer for a day. Then, once it had de-thawed and was re-intalled into your computer, it would magically work!

I thought this was a joke, until…

Umm…sir, there seems to be a hard drive in my freezer.

Oh, for the Love of God.

Needless to say, this magical trick did NOT work, despite having to search for food around the hard drive for a week while it took a vacation in the freezer.

A new one was purchased, along with a external hard drive, and sanity was restored to the Ciavarro house hold.

Just because someone has a University Masters, doesn’t mean they are actually smrt.

This popped up on his Gmail calendar yesterday.

I wonder who added it…
