Herro Sick Face

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

I had to take a sick day today. Well, I went in for 2 hours to do the important stuff then went to the clinic, then came home.

I’m not one to run to the doctors every time something is wrong, but everyone kept telling me to go, especially since I was getting worse.

I may have strep throat. I may just have a virus. I find out in 2 days.

The runny nose and cough started today, so maybe it is just a virus. I guess I’ll find out.

Kinda figures I would get sick right in the middle of crunch time. Oh well. I can’t let it get me down.

I need fluids. STAT!

Red Door

Today is the day I can officially say I am Cancer Free.

Today is the day I can stop worrying about the next time I have to go for tests.

Today is the day I don’t worry about results.

Today is the day I live again.

I still have to go back for yearly blood tests.

I still have to have all my levels monitored.

But I can live with that.

I’m so glad this day has finally arrived.

Thank you to everyone who showed their love and support <3

Not A Fan

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

I hate when nurses act all sketched out around you and as much as you try to read it to what they are reacting to, you can’t, and you are left to believe that something has gone wrong, when in reality, it could be that everything is fine and they are just horrible at interacting with people.

I read too much into situations and then I worry myself sick.

The important thing to remember is, if something HAD been wrong, they would have called me back.

Now my brain is mush.

Puke Face

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

The shots I’ve had to get for my Thyroid test this week, have left me nauseous, dizzy, and sick as a dog.
I spent all afternoon yesterday laying down in the Design Room, puking in the bathroom, and attempting to be a good employee.
I failed.
I left work at 4:30 and had to pull over on my way home.
I walked in the door and ran for the bathroom.
I was in bed the whole afternoon/evening.
I finally took some Gravol and started to feel better at around 9pm.
I was able to stomach a piece of cheese at 9:30pm.
The Gravol made me hallucinate and I couldn’t fall asleep until 11pm.
It also didn’t help that the one person who could take care of me has a broken ankle and couldn’t move.
My body aches from being hunched over the toilet.
I feel very weak, and I’ve got more tests coming up this afternoon.
I need this week to be OVER.

Just so you know.

32 M
Nice Toes

His toes look ridiculous, but I still love them.

The Cast
Chad in Bed

Disaster Zone!

As I mentioned in my update on my last post, we went to the hospital Friday night and got everything checked out. We took our time getting there, but managed to make it just before all the crazies started to roll in. We were put through quite fast, which I was really surprised about, but very much appreciated. From beginning to end it only took us 2 hours.

Chad got an x-ray and it was determined that he both sprained his ankle, as well as fractured it. The emergency room doctor was very nice and he informed Chad that his foot would have to be put into a cast, which Chad wasn’t too happy about. For some reason, I was giddy.

Since the casting room was closed, as it was about 8:30, the doctor put Chad in a “slab” or partial cast, just so that he wouldn’t be able to move his foot or ankle until he could schedule him for a full cast fitting.

The coolest thing about the experience was that Burnaby General Hospital hasn’t changed all that much, and when I walked into the casting room with Chad I had flash backs of when I was there almost 19 years ago. It was so cool. Hahaha. I loved it. It was like reliving a part of my childhood. A few days before school was out, when I was 6, I did a hand stand a lunch time, where I lost my balance and fell on my leg fracturing/breaking it. I can’t remember exactly, but I became the proud new owner of a foot to hip length neon pink cast. I remember laying in a bed in the emergency room and having my cast put on. It was so surreal.

This week is kind of going to be nuts. Chad has his cast scheduled to be put on, on Tuesday, but I can’t take him because I have appointments at the Cancer Clinic and VGH every day this week. So my Moms going to take him, and you better believe she is going to take pictures.

He’s good when hes laying down, or sitting in his chair, but as soon as he starts to move around, or use his crutches, his foot/ankle starts to hurt. They will do more x-rays on Tuesday to determine how long hes going to need to be all casted up. Hopefully it won’t be long, because we are going away to Seattle for my birthday weekend, and he needs to drive :S

Chad Relaxing

It’s always one thing or another with us.

At least this makes life interesting, and add 20 times more work on my plate.

Oh well. He’s cute so it’s not just a bad gig.
