So…I got my hair cut.

Day 202-1

This is my hair last Wednesday when one of Marlees co-workers practiced doing a blow out on me. Alicia and I went down to Axis on Pender as hair models (our favorite job ever) and got our hair washed, and blow dried all for free! It was amazing.

As you can tell, though, my hair was all very…LONG. It felt like I had a sack of hair on my head. While nice for Winter, it really was not working for Summer.

I had this plan to keep this hair for the Summer and then get a new do for Italy, but by mid June, I just couldn’t wait any longer. I might has well have had a fur coat on my head.

It had grown to the point that it was life less, had no spunk to it, and just would not straighten properly.

Day 205-3

I finally made a LONG over do appointment this past Saturday, and walked my pretty little behind down to Coal Harbour, on the most glorious of Saturdays.

I sat down in the chair and Marlee produced her magic.

Hello layers, and body, and volume, and flare!

She only cut an inch off the length, but she layered the hell out of it, making it feel so light and airy. It’s like I have nothing on my head now! There is so much more life to it and I am loving everything about it! Even when I put it in a bun it doesn’t feel like my head is going to topple over!

There is a part of me that does feel naked now that I don’t have a sack of hair on my head, but that will quickly go away as the hot Summer days continue and I remember what I use to have for hair.

I am LOVING it!

So…have you made your appointment with  Marlee yet?

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

Well sluts, it’s my last hour of work before my personal Long Weekend. I figured I would share with you my 101 pictures of myself from Marlees hair show because I was totally obsessed with my hair. Everyone who saw it loved it and I was very honoured to have my head adorned with such style.

Check out that make up. Don’t worry, my face ate it in a matter of hours.

Ze Outfit. I took a skirt from Value Village, chopped it up, and stuck some of my wedding lace, and work lace all around it.

Hair picture obsession. See how my face no longer looks like it has makeup on it. I didn’t wipe it off, my face/pores ate it.

This is what it took to make my hair – 3 hair extensions, 3 nylons stuffed with cotton, and a zillion bobbi pins!

The hair aftermath.

I was a bit concerned with the dismount of my hair do. There was a lot of back combing that went on and I was quite worried about combing it out and loosing most of my hair. However, the girls gave me a great tip which worked out so well. They told me to take my hair down and not to comb it. Instead, jump in the shower, shampoo like crazy, rinse, condition like crazy, and then comb it out. Well, somehow my conditioner is magic and my matted tangled hair was knot free even before I combed it out. It was a miricle!

Marlees got me signed up to some some more hair shows with her which I am really excited about.

I wonder if I could make a career out of being a hair model!?

I’ve been meaning to post these pictures for EVER. But you know me. Lazy + Too much going on + Lazy = LATE POSTING!

So, back in December I was the very first person who’s hair Miss Marlee J cut! Woot Woot! She did an amazing job as I’m sure you will be able to see in the pictures.

I love that I now have an amazing hairdresser at my finger tips!

Then…

A couple of weekends ago, Marlee asked me to come in and be a model for a day so that she could practice doing up-dos on a real person instead of her Judy Doll. Humm, have my hair played with and styled for free? SOLD!

Marlee curled it all out and played with it a bit. We weren’t sure what to do with it all until we watched a styling video and were inspired!

The hair style they showed was done on straight hair, but Marlee compromised.

I absolutely ADORE the hair style she did.

There were so many great ones on the styling video we watched, I can’t wait for her to do my hair for the next big event I have to go do.

If there is anyone looking for an amazing hair experience I HIGHLY recommend going to Marlee. You can tell this was her calling in life. She is amazingly talented with a pair of scissors and a comb!!!

I can’t wait to go back!

Woot Woot Halloween Post!!!

Not going to lie, our costumes weren’t the best this year. I mean, Chad and I DID look exactly like who we dressed up as, but no one knew who we were, and really that’s half the fun. Mental note for next year.

I always understood that Chad hated Halloween, so in my attempt to have him participate I told him to dress up as the easiest person I knew – Don Draper. Easiest costume plus Chad loves him, and kind of looks like him. Well, getting him to dress up in a suit was like pulling teeth. I learned that night, that he would rather go ALL out for Halloween as appose to doing it half assed, which is apparently how he felt about this year. Again, mental noted.

So we headed over to Adams new place for a Halloween Party where Alicia put my hosting abilities to shame with the amount of food and things she prepared. It was amazing!

Alicias got some more pictures up on her blog, some pictures of everyone elses costumes, I didn’t take that many.

Over all the night was fun. The girls all became obsessed with Palm Bay. Looks manly like beer, but tastes girly like a cooler. Marlee brought a million of them and we all stole one. Best drink ever!

Adams new place is above the Greek Restaurant on Commercial, so I guess the guys that own the Restaurant decided to provide us with a a fireworks show in their parking lot, which was pretty cool. The store front across the street was also taken over by a place that sells fireworks and those were going off every 5 minutes. We were just waiting for the place to blow up.

Chad told me I should probably skanky up my costume next year instead of looking like an old lady. Ha, thats what every girl does, and I’m clearly not a part of that scene.

I’ve already come up with the greatest idea for next year, I just don’t know how into it he will be.
